Supervisor Hohl repeatedly voiced at the recent special meeting that there is no conspiracy
Against Pat Evon, “nice guy, but can’t do the job”. I take Supervisor Hohl at his word that this is what he believes. In my opinion if there is not a conspiracy then maybe we could say “there really is a tight knit group of individuals seeking to keep their power and control hold on our township by keeping outsiders out…like the current Clerk and Treasurer. Supervisor Hohl, by what logic do you base your statement that Pat Evon is unable to do his job when the board has undermined him by refusing to pay his deputy as they likewise did to the Clerk’s deputy resulting in both their resignations? No wonder there is a backlog in the Treasurer’s office…..I believe the responsibility lies with the Board of Trustees.

Supervisor Hole…if there is no conspiracy then to be fair then will you permit a sign in support of Treasurer Evon to be placed along M-36 in front of the Hamburg mall in response to the existing recall sign now there. I believe this is your property.

I have a vote of NO CONFIDENCE in this board. I think some you should resign as you keep causing too much trouble and are keeping the township in a state of continuing gridlock. I have spoken with many Hamburg residents, and they are embarrassed by all the fighting at the township.

It seems to me that since Mr. Skiba and Mr. Evon have taken office they have been met with nothing but criticism, accusations, and interference with trying to do the jobs for which they were elected. They have not been allowed to have adequate paid staff in their offices. The people both of these men have appointed as deputies have been criticized or deemed inadequate for the jobs by the Board of Trustees and have either not been paid or paid very little or outright rejected by the board. Offices with unpaid or underpaid staff who are not even sure they will be able to get enough hours in a week to be able to take home a decent paycheck will not run smoothly or at optimum performance levels and not everything will get done. People who are hired but then not paid adequately or just not paid at all or not assured a certain number hours a week have little incentive to do a good job or even stay on the job.

Both Mr. Skiba and Mr. Evon have been besieged with numerous accusations and allegations of wrongdoing. They have been dodging bullets since taking office. Instead of being supported in the jobs they were elected to do they have had to spend precious time and energy defending themselves.

I suggest that Mr. Skiba and Evon be allowed to get proper staffing for their offices, that the staff be paid adequately, and they be left alone for the next 9 – 12 months. If at that time in the future things are not improved then re-evaluate the situation.

The Board’s continued lack of cooperation and support of these 2 newly elected officials also has me wondering if there is something that is being covered up which the Board does not want to come to light. Is there a skeleton in the closet which might be discovered if the newest members are allowed to do their jobs at full capacity and undistracted by lack of adequate staff and having to defend themselves against criticism?

Mr. Skiba and Mr. Evon were elected by the voters of Hamburg Twp. Let’s give them a chance to do the jobs for which they were elected.
